Our Motawi Arts & Crafts shutters feature mission-style split flat panels in combination with an interchangeable panel of art tiles [note: the tile pictured is no longer available, but we have hundreds more to choose from]. The tile panel is available in a variety of designs created by the Motawi Tileworks, set in a rich chocolate-black grout. For exterior or interior applications! [Note: for exterior applications in cold climates, we recommend that these tiles be used in protected locations; or preserve these handcrafted art tiles by replacing them with a more durable glass or porcelain alternative in the winter months.]

Available unfinished or in virtually any solid color (Shown above in Spanish Cedar, hand-rubbed with a custom-mixed rosewood stain; below in Spanish Cedar with a cordovan brown solid stain).

Like all Shutterstile shutters, our Motawi Arts & Crafts shutters:

  • are handcrafted to your specifications from Spanish cedar, western red cedar, oak, mahogany or other hardwood, using traditional mortise and tenon construction
  • when used as decorative exterior shutters (i.e., not operable), they are available with the exclusive Shutterstile z-bar hidden mounting system
  • are finished with only environmentally friendly low-VOC, water-based finishes
  • have interchangeable panels (patent pending) which are easily replaced without removing the shutter from the wall substitute panels of porcelain, glass, Talavera, stone, cork, metal, or just about any other tile to change the look of your home whenever the mood strikes you
